TheHive: why it exists… and why it couldn’t have been anything else

TheHive: why it exists… and why it couldn’t have been anything else

Hello,

If you’ve been following our story, you already know who we are and how we create.
Today, we want to talk about something more concrete and even more personal:

TheHive, our very first model.

The one that made us doubt, start over, smile, start over again, learn, and start over once more.
The one that turned an idea into reality.
The watch that made PANOM a brand, or rather, a project that finally took shape.

The shape: a choice that took time… and set us free

Let’s be honest: finding the right case shape was one of the hardest steps.

We didn’t want a classic round case.
Nor a tonneau.
Nor a cushion.
Nor a square.

We wanted a silhouette that catches the eye without shouting.
A presence, not an extravagance.
A design that feels simple… until you realize it really isn’t.

That’s what led us to this form both geometric and organic, inspired by:

  • modern architectural structures

  • the polished angles of Scandinavian design objects

  • the interplay of light and shadow

  • the balance between control and spontaneity

  • the idea of a “cell,” a living structure

And that’s where the name came from: TheHive.

Because the watch is like a cell, a core, an architectural module.
Because it’s built with intention, as part of a coherent structure.
And because it symbolizes, in a way, a home a starting point.

Design: when everything comes down to details

It’s rarely talked about, but creating a proprietary case takes time.
Sometimes it’s frustrating.
Sometimes it’s incredible.

Every facet must earn its place.
Every curve must have a reason.
Every angle must tell a story.

We drew, redrew, refined, thickened, lightened, softened, sharpened…
Until one day, we saw it.

The real TheHive.
The one that made us say: “That’s it.”

Not an almost-right version.
Not a compromise.
The version that truly represents us.

The challenge: between ambition and reality

We didn’t want a standard case.
But a custom-made case comes with:

  • specific tooling

  • precise molds

  • costly testing phases

  • mistakes you must accept

  • delays you have to manage

  • unexpected technical adjustments

Honestly?

TheHive tested us.
Because we wanted to do things properly.
And because we refused to move forward until it felt right.

The movement: Swiss rigor behind the emotion

Behind a bold design, there had to be reliable mechanics.
No unnecessary complications.
No stylistic gimmicks.

Just something solid, precise, and trustworthy.

That’s why we chose a high-end Swiss movement

-

a movement that doesn’t try to impress, but to last.

A watch is a living object.
It should accompany you, not try to astonish you.

Why are we telling you all this?

Because we want you to understand one essential thing:

TheHive is not just our first watch.
It is our manifesto.

It says:

  • we are not here to copy

  • we are not here to rush

  • we are not here just to “look good”

  • we want to offer our vision, honestly

  • we would rather take time than betray an intention

When the first pre-orders arrived, we didn’t see them as commercial validation.
We saw them as recognition.
As proof that someone, somewhere, understood what we were trying to build.

And that, more than anything, truly moved us.

TheHive is only the beginning.
The best is yet to come - and we can’t wait to show you.

Thank you for being here.
Thank you for reading.
