Precision Engineering Meets Timeless Design
SOPROD is a fully integrated Swiss manufacture based in the Jura region. Founded as Indtec, acquired by the Festina Group, producing calibers trusted by established houses across Europe. The M100 Squelette is their skeletonized automatic - every component visible, every finish deliberate.
No date complication. No clutter. Just the mechanism, exposed.
Craftsmanship & Heritage
Most movements are hidden. TheHive was designed around the opposite idea: the SOPROD M100 Squelette is exposed through the dial and through the sapphire exhibition caseback. The skeletonization removes all non-essential material from the mainplate and bridges - what remains is pure architecture.
The version fitted in TheHive carries two finishing treatments that are the hallmark of serious watchmaking:
-
Perlage : Each plate is hand-finished using a rotating peg tool pressed against the surface in overlapping circular motions. The result is a field of microscopic rings covering every internal surface. Not visible from the outside. Done anyway.
-
Côtes de Genève : Parallel striations engraved across the bridges. An ancestral technique originating in Geneva in the 19th century, now reserved for movements where finishing is a deliberate act, not an afterthought.
-
Incabloc shock protection : The balance wheel assembly is mounted on a spring-loaded bearing that absorbs shocks up to 5,000g. Longevity built in.
-
Bidirectional rotor winding : The oscillating weight winds the mainspring in both directions, maximizing efficiency with everyday wear. 40 to 45 hours of autonomy from a full reserve.
Each watch is individually numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
A deliberate choice. No date.
The M100 Squelette fitted in TheHive runs without a date complication. This was a conscious decision. A date window cuts through the dial, interrupts the symmetry, and breaks the visual connection to the movement beneath. We removed it.
What you see through the dial is the escapement in motion — the lever, the escape wheel, the balance oscillating at 4 Hz, 28,800 times per hour. That rhythm is the only display that matters.
The sapphire exhibition caseback mirrors the experience from the other side. Front or back, the M100 is never hidden. It was finished to be seen — perlage on surfaces that face inward, Côtes de Genève on bridges that most owners will never think to look at.
That's the standard SOPROD holds. It's the standard TheHive is built on.
